Old King Lear divides his kingdom among his
daughters, but foolishly banishes his beloved youngest Cordelia for
refusing to flatter him. The older daughters drive Lear out into a terrible
storm, leaving him to plumb the depths of misery and madness. With pretenders
to the throne everywhere, a loyal few play an endgame to save the king
and his crumbling kingdom.
